Wipers don't stop

I have '91 Chevy C2500 truck. The windshield wipers don't stop when they're supposed to. I hit the momentary button and instead of wiping once like they're supposed to, they keep on going and when they finally stop they're in the middle of the windshield. I have to keep pushing the button until they stop at the bottom or turn the ignition off when they get there. Has anyone ever heard of this, and can you tell me where to start my troubleshooting? I have a good knowledge of electrical circuits.

There should be a wiper park switch inside the wiper motor assembly. If I remember right, it's a metal tab like a point set. It might be dirty/corroded/broken.
