brake help

I have a 1990 ford taurus, my brakes squeak alot, people often mistake the sound of my brakes for a trash truck, but my brakes are not bad, infact they work real well, what can I do to get rid of this squeaking noise without replacing my brakes?

brake squeal

At many parts shops thay have a stick on anti squeal gasket, that goes on the metal side of disk brake pads that works great. Not like the messy goo anti squeal.

Generally, poor quality pads cause noise like that. Brand name of the replacements?

Use only good quality replacements in service.

On the other hand, how many miles since your last brake job? Could be the warning tabs telling you it's time for new brakes and the noise starts long before the brakes are worn to the point of having noticably bad braking.
