1989 honda civic

where is the EGR valve located at on this motor,if there is one.
motor was changed and we dont know if it is from CA.,
Please give a description of what it looks like, Thank You

Look on your underhood emission diagram and it will show you where all the emissioin controls are

An EGR valve looks like a dome in shape.

I have a same model as yours, I believe there is no EGR valve,Why u want to know the location? because not passing the emission test?

As far as I know there is.....

I agree, what is the actual problem with the emission system?

1600 series motor, it is not the original.

the car stutters at an idle and when decelarating
but is continuious at certian rpm depending on what gear your in

May not be an EGR valve.

Is the motor from the correct year and model as the original? If not, probably the vacuum set up is different.

Hondas have vacuum woes when the engine IS the right one. I'm betting if the engine is from a different year, you have vacuum lines going in the wrong place. This will cause idle grief.

Check up for the trouble code.
There is a plug that u can bypass from the passange side.
