well after putting a used mass air flow sens on, and little or no difference i have called, auto zone, napa, advance, carquest, etc and none of them will seend a sensor off to be checked? is there anyplace that does?

Can someone please help me? I have a 1979 Chev. El Camino. 305 v8 engine. the starter is in good condition. All fluids level and clean. Won't turn over at all. I have put in a new battery and everything. I can hear the starter and sounds correct. Help me please or the city regs say I have to get rid of it! I don't want to do that as it was given to me by a friend before they passed away::confused: The vehicle does spark,and has full tank of gas. distributor does not turn. Engine attempts to start but does not !The starter spins and whirrs.We had the engine rebuilt but they wouldn't even look at it. THEY are a member of the BBB, so we got nowhere! When we put vehicle in garage everything on dashboard worked, when we got it out-nothing worked-they attempted to repair turning signals by putting a big screw in the steering column,but still don't work! they broke the door handle(interior) and replaced it. I don't know if this will help,but I am praying it does!!We've had two "mechanics" look at it- one said it was the cam something or other,other said it was something electrical. A friend said it may have to do with the distributor! I really appreciate your answering my mail so quickly!!!:)
