1990 Ford Escort

After driving the car about about 20 miles, the engine dies. the engine will spin but will not fire. After sitting a few hours, it will start fine. Plenty of gas, oil and not overheated. The ignition module and fuel fiter were replaced last summer. Any ideas anyone?

Probably the igniton module AGAIN.

Ford has had major woes with their TFI module. In fact, you probably got a settlement letter in the mail about it if your car is affected. I know my cousin did on his 93 Taurus.

What brand of module was used in the replacement? Call up Ford and get the latest # in their parts books and see if yours matches that.

Also call up Ford HQ and see why you did not get the letter on the TFI module settlement. As I recall, the letter came to my cousin from Novato, California. Some law group or something like that. I know a few people at work and such that got the same letter and asked me what to do.
