I have a 1987 Dodge Dakota V6 3.9. Can some one tell me how to get the starter out? There is not enough room between the engine and the motor mount. No one around here can figure it out and I really need to get back on the road. Thanks

Lost you when you say no one can figure it out. No garages can handle it? Doubt that

Check some of the links in my signature file for some ideas.

On the Dodge Dakota w/3.9l Engine, you must remove the exhaust bracket and automatic transmission oil cooler tube bracket, if equipped, also you must remove the starter heat sheild if it has it. Then the starter will come out.
