Engine Light

I have a 1986 Dodge Ramcharger Truck(5.2L) and the engine light stays on. What causes this and can I fix it?

There are dozens of causes for the check engine light, many of which are emission system related. You will need to get a garage to check for codes with a scanner. You should be able to reset the light bt disconnecting your battery and reconnecting, however the light will come back on when the computer re-senses whatever condition turned the light on in the first place.

Do you mean the Engine oil pressure light or the check engine light?

For the check engine light, see the links in my signature file.

If it's the engine oil pressure light, you either have a defective oil sending unit or an oil pressure problem.
