Head rests on 1996 Cavalier

Last week I asked for input on how to remove the headrests from the seats of my 1996 Cavalier. Someone answered me saying that I need to pull up with more force. That did not work. He also asked me why I was removing them. I am putting seat covers on the seats and the seatbelt guide that is mounted on the headrests won't allow me to install them over the headrests.

Did you try removing the seat belt guide and then installing it after the cover is on?

They are made to be removed but with much force. Raise them up a bit and see if there is a release lever. If there is, depress it and it should pull up with force.

Seat covers look major league hokey on a modern car .

I tried again, by giving them a quick upward snap I was able to remove them. Thank you for your help.
