Replacing heater core in Chevy cavalier...part2

Is there a way to bypass the heater core completely, connecting the out from the block directly to the in with a hose? This would allow me to at least postpone the repair to a non-holiday weekend.

Sure, you just explained to yourself that it can be done, pray for warm weather!

Exactly. Just route the hoses in a loop so they bypass the core. Plug them up for now and then fix it when you have a chance.
