Usually bolted to the side of the distributor. In some cars it is remotely mounted on the fender or a bracket. It is grey and is held in with two bolts.
Sometimes a special recessed socket/tool is needed to remove it. Any parts store will have it.
That being said, Ford has also had problems with the TFI distributor mounted module. In that regard, they have mailed some customers letters and will pay for replacement modules and accept claims.
You should call Ford customer service and double check.

As Joe_F said, the module is bolted to the side of the distributor. Contact your local Ford dealer. Ask them to run your VIN through their OASIS system. OASIS will tell them if your car is eligible for free module replacement under Ford's recent settlement of a class-action lawsuit.
