Cool buying used car?

I'm need of another car and just saw an ad at an auction for a Olds Delta 88 Royale. The ad says it's always been in a garage and looks like new.

My question is with a car of this age even if it has low mileage is there a good chance of having a lot of troubles with hoses, gaskets, etc.

Appreciate any thoughts any one has.

It's hard to say.
changing the belts and hoses isn't hard or expensive.they would be the least of your problems.
As far as gaskets-You can buy a 2 year old car and have leaks.
My best advise would be to get the vin # and do a title search. There are many websites out to handle just that.

You don't tell us what year, so we can't tell you what pitfalls it might have.

I can tell you from personal experience if it is a 1985 or older rear wheel drive, you will get good service as long as you keep up on the basics and give it a little TLC along the way. It will reward you with great service.

Try the link below for TSB's and recalls. And as iI said before get the vin and search the title to see if there was any accidents or repairs at dealer.
Also what engine is in vehicle?

1987 is a 3.8 liter engine. Probably a vin code 3 as I recall.

This is an "OK" car. Nothing to write home about. Average repairs and parts are fairly cheap and readily available at any parts store.

There's better out there for the same money, so it all depends on what you want in a 2nd vehicle.

I agree with Bill on the title information, but it's quite old. Not sure how extensive the early history might be.
