windstar water pump

I have a small leak from the water pump on my 1998 Ford Windstar, V6 3.8L , 59000 miles. I called a repair shop and they told me that to replace it, they would have to remove the engine.

What would a fair price be to replace the pump?

should I have any other work done (for preventative measures) if the pump is replaced?

HUH?

The engine does not have to be removed to replace pump.
It just has to be raised about 2 inches.
I would call around to other shops(do some comparison shopping.) or try doing it yourself with the link below for R&R procedures.

I agree. Wrong shop to bring your vehicle to. I believe they are quite mistaken! Lol.
