94 Lincoln Town Car

I have a 94 Lincoln Town Car which, upon initial cold startup, runs fine and continues to run fine untill you shut it off. If you try to
restart the car while the engine is still hot, it will not idle correctly and when you put it in gear it dies. I have to hotfoot it by riding the brake and the gas pedal to keep it running while at a stop. Once the car cools down, it will run fine again. I drove it for 2 and a half hours once with no problems, but once I shut it off and tried to restart it, the idling problem appeared. Any suggestions. I had it in the shop, the Mass Air Flow Sensor was replaced and the throttle body was cleaned out.
