1998 ford ranger oil leak

a friend got into a head on accident with his 1998 ford ranger. not much damage but now oil leaks from what looks like the oil pan. before getting under the auto i would like some suggestions as to what to look for. (example: gaskets and where)
any help would be great

If it's leaking oil like that, the pan is likely to be damaged/cracked.

How bad of an accident are we talking about? Let the insurance company handle all the repairs.

never mind guys i went ahead and started the process and its just a crack in the oil pan. the frame got shoved back enough to hit the pan and make a tiny crack in it. just got an epoxy gas tank repair kit and patched it right up.

thanks anyways

Eeek. That's some pretty heavy damage. Check the vehicle thoroughly for hidden damage and other troubles
