Electric Windows- GMC Van

I have a 93 GMC van 5.7L with electric windows. Recently the drives window only goes up a few inches at a time. As it is actuated more frequently, the distance the window goes up decreases until it will not move. Waiting 15-20 allows it to go up another few inches. Helping the window go up does not make much difference, it will still stop after a few inches. I have had the panel off and did not see any gross binding areas, but it did appear loose. I do not see anything missing that would cause it to be loose. This is a nuisance that means one must plan far ahead to get the window closed. Any suggestions?

Take the panel off.

Bring power to the motor from the battery. Does it go up and down correctly. Do it a few times.

If it's balky, you have a bad motor.

If it's fine, you have a wiring or switch issue...or a dirty connection.

Bad window guides may also cause this condition,Causing window to get hung up.

First check the motor.....If it's good then check the wires in teh boot between the door and body........A broken wire will cause the same problems.
