Rear bumper replacement

I need to replace the rear bumper on my '93 E350 Van. Is this something that can be done at home or are there safety issues that would require a professional installation? Thanks for the help.

Without actually looking at one to refresh my memory, I would say you're probably looking at 4-6 bolts and it drops right off since it will be a REAL bumper and not a plastic decoration part. Will weigh a few pounds so best to get some help supporting it when you pull the bolts.

Get all new supports, impact bar, etc. Make sure the body and frame have sustained no damage.

Unbolt the old and put on the new, transferring everything that doesn't come with the new bumper.

Get help from a friend as it is likely heavy. Use original parts for the best quality.
