top up air conditioner on 99 Nissan Maxima

CAn someone tell me how I can do this myself. I
know that I can buy the necessary 134a refrigerant
at an auto parts store. But how do I get it in to
the system effectively?
Thanks

without a set of manifold guages to indicate what pressures your a/c system is running at you are not going to add freon effectivly, you can buy a can or two with the hose connection to add it to your system but you will not know if it is undercharged or overcharged you are better off taking to a shop to have freon added may cost a little more but worth it.

I agree with bejay. I'd also add that you should not have to "top up" an a/c system. If the system is low, you have a leak!

One more reason to go to a shop (or possibly the dealer if your car is still under warranty).

I agree with these guys. If you have to add, you have a leak. It must be corrected or you'll always be adding and behind the 8 ball.

1999 vehicle: Nissan's problem. Make them eat the repair.
