1990 Toyota Corolla Key Stuck

90 toyota corolla, automatic, key is stuck in ignition. After pushing key in, it will only turn half way to "full off" position and it will not start. Checked shifter and tried to turn key in all different positions and turned steering wheel all over the place, still will not come out of iginition. Tried brake pedal in all positions, turn key, move shift lever, turn wheel etc. Just clicks when trying to start, but battery seems to have good power to lights. Neutral safety switch, or has anyone experienced this problem before?

Thanks

Thanks Joe, already tried. Can also here brake solenoid in shifter move when stepping on brakes. Will try disconnecting battery this afternoon to get key to come out.

Try wiggling the steering wheel as you try to turn the key. You likely have a bad lock cylinder or a bent key.

Key Stuck

In this case, the owners had installed an aftermarket shift handle, and it had been installed to far down on the lever, had forced the lever which operates the cable that locks the key, off it's post. Put lever back on post, set shift handle up about 1/4 inch, and key began working again. No start was because of low battery.
