Unhappy Astro Van 1987 Door Shut.

I STILL HAVEN'T SOLVE MY PROBLEM ABOUT MY DOOR. I REPLACED THE OUTSIDE (DRIVER SIDE)DOOR HANDLE OVER A WEEK AGO. NOW I COULDN'T OPEN IT. THE DOOR HANDLE DOESN'T FEEL TO HAVE ANY RESISTANCE WHEN PULLED TO OPEN DOOR, NOR MAKE A SOUND OR NOISE WHEN PULLED. DOOR PANEL IS STILL OFF SO I CAN STILL GAIN ACCESS TO THE INSIDE(ESP. IF I TAKE THE DRIVER SEAT OFF). IS THERE ANYTHING INSIDE THAT I CAN PULL OR TOUCH (SOMETHING/ANYTHING)THAT WOULD OPEN THE DOOR? RIGHT NOW, I AM USING THE SLIDING DOOR TO GO IN, AND I GO OUT THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. IT IS VERY ANNOYING.....PLEASE HELP!

Please don't type in caps; it's the equivelant of SHOUTING and hard to read.

Has to be a linkage between the handle and latch mechanism. Suggest you remove the inner panel on the passenger side door and trace the linkage there so you have an idea where the problem may be on the driver's side. Good luck.

I agree (on the shouting too).

Hit any GM dealer's parts department for an exploded view of the door components. You'll then have an idea of what goes where and what you might be missing.

Also check the links in my signature file too.
