A heater core is a 40 dollar item on many cars, so why?

It's not as large as a radiator to do that, I'm sure it *could* be done, but again, why?

Considering it's in a PITA of a spot on most cars and sometimes rodding a radiator doesn't work, you'd be bes to replace it. Heater cores are not jobs to do twice.

If I can find one that cheap I agree, but the prices I've heard are 180.00-200.00+ for the core itself. I'll keep shopping around. Tho' even then as you say it's not something I'd want to do twice.

Depends on the vehicle. I got one for an 88 Cougar recently for 25 bucks .

Most popular applications are quite cheap because everyone makes 'em.
