back hatch lifters on '95 Nissan pathfinder
I need to install new lifters on my back hatch. The instructions and someone from this site told me to look for spring clamps to remove first. However, these are the Nissan factory lifters and I can't find any spring clamps. Has anyone out there ever just changed out the entire lifter/bolt combination without changing these springs first? Just wondering. Thanks

That being said, buy the new lifts and it will come with R&R instructions. When you see the new parts, and the instructions, the removal of the old ones will seem easy.
If you buy them at the dealer, ask the parts guy about them. He'll probably give you the R&R procedure out of his head or ask the service guy.
If you buy them from the parts store, again, the package usually has instructions or by simply inspecting the part, you'll see how they come out.
Most have clips at the ends that hold them in place.
