Leaking oil from oil cap

A question from my DH:

1992 Dodge Van, V6. Oil cap to add oil... oil leaks out. Can an

additional gasket be added to lid? Is this cap what used to be

called the breather cap?

Thanks for the help.

The gasket is probably as hard as a brick and wont seal, and you don't have enough room to stuff another gasket under there. Cant you just replace the oil fill cap? $5?

I agree with Chad. Check your PCV system for clogging/problems. If oil is burping out of the filler, you might have a PCV system issue.
