300E Interior Door Removal

The rear drivers door on my 300e mercedes is stuck open.. when i opened the door there was a loud creakish sound.. now it seems as if the door "hold open" mechanism has jammed and will not retract. I have located 6 "clips" that seem to hold the door interior panel on. Any advice on the removal of these clips? they seem to be a 90 degree type of hook ... i have tried prising them with a flat blade and carboard but cannot seem to get the panel off .. which is sort of imperative to at least closing the door to drive it to be repaired if i cant. Thanks for any info--Josh

Try this:

1. Push plastic lock with screwdriver out of handle and remove handle.

2. Unclip cover at top from door frame and pull out in upward direction.

3. Force off molding on inside door actuation and turn out screw inside on handle.

4. Disengage linkage of door handle, push door inside actuation forward and remove.

5. Move window downward and then remove window crank.

6. Remove bordering on door lock.

7. Push door lining upwards and remove.

Note: If the sealing foil on inner door plate is damaged, renew prior to installing door lining.
