Broken Spark Plug

Given that a spark plug broke off at the thread while trying to extract, can I safely drive this car to the mechanic (roughly 8 miles in-town)? I successfully replaced the other five. Thanks.

The answer is no. You'll foul the converter with excess fuel from the dead cylinder and cause problems.

Again, if the metal hex is still in the cylinder hole, it should come right out. What is stuck in the cylinder?

I have the hex down to about 1/4" of thread in hand, the rest is stuck in the cylinder.

Is removing the head, as suggested earlier, something that I can easily do? I have very limited tools, and little experience.

There is a mechanic about 1/2 mile from my house, he is just not who I normally go to. Is this a distance that is feasible, or should I call for tow.

Get it towed. Don't run it on 5 cylinders. Not good.

If you lack the experience, tools and patience, it's worth a bail out. I can't see a shop charging you that much to get it out and replace the plug.
