Coolent Leak
I have a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle That I am restoring With a 267 C.I. Engine. auto trans. When the car is at idle all is fine but, when I race it up ( not sure of the RPM'S) it developes a coolant leak that is organating from what appears to be a bolt hole below the holes the water pump mounts into. There are two bolt holes both on the left side and the right at the bottom of the block which are at the hight of the fuel pump. the leak is only from the upper hole on the left side (looking at the engine from the front of the car). Any Help you can give me will be greatly appreceated.
Thank's DJM

Might be a freeze out plug. Can you physically move the piece? Does it look like a silver dollar and is recessed into the block?
There is no 267 V8 in a 1971 Chevelle. Those were either 307's or 350's in that year.
267 is only 1979 to 1982 in the A and G body cars. It's a vin code J engine, 4.4 liter displacement.
The original Chevy small block V8 was 265 CID in the 50's.
