coolant leak

Dear Joe,

I have an 87' Pontiac Bonneville. I have a problem with my coolant overflow. I would fill it up and in a matter of a day or two it would be empty again. There is really no sign of a leak. The only clues so far are a little spot of green on the frame a foot from the right-front tire. I also checked the oil and there is no contamination.

In confusion,

Check for loose/bad hoses or a leaky water pump. A leaky water pump will exhibit itself with noise or a trail of coolant (dried or wet) at the weephole in the casting.

Also the reservoir could have a hole/crack in it too.
