keyless entry

I have a 95 Chevy Lumina. My keyless entry works intermittantly and has for several years. I took it to the dealership and the battery is not dead. The dealership gave me a nonsensical answer as to why it didn't work. Something about interference from other cars. But it worked fine for several years and I replaced the battery. Any other suggestions? It works in parking lots sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I can't see any rhyme nor reason as to when it works and when it doesn't. Is it possible to buy a new keyless entry to an older car?

Sounds hokey to me.

Change the battery one more time, clean the contacts on the transmitter really good and reprogram it as per the recommended procedure. Now try it.

Might have a bad transmitter.
