Saturn Oil Change Light

My girlfriend got an oil change on her 2002 Saturn SL2 1.9 at 2200 miles. Her car recently hit 3,000. Now one of the idiot lights is on reading "Change Oil Soon". I heard this is part of the GM Oil Life System. Does anyone know how I can go about reseting this light? Thanks.

What does the owner's manual have to say about it?

sounds like

whomever changed the oil didn't bother to reset the light. Look in the index of your owners manual under "engine oil life monitor".

You can also try a shortcut available in most GM product:

1. Turn ignition to "run", DO NOT START ENGINE

2. Depress and release accelerator 3 times

Oil light should flash a couple of times, then extinguish.

If the above doesn't work, read your owner's manual.

Figured it out. You turn the key to ON, pop the hood and in the fuse box on the drivers side is a reset button. Press it, the light flashes, and you're all set. Pretty stupid system if you ask me. But thats just my opinion.
