brake diagnosis

need help with brakes on Mazda b2200 Year 1988. feels as if there is no power brakes. have new pads and shoes, that was replaced by a shop. before i purchased the truck. master cylinder is full and not leaking and i can't find any leaks in the system. could the power brake booster be shot and how can i tell

With the engine off, pump the brake pedal 5-10 times. Hold your foot on the pedal (brakes applied) after the final stroke.

Start the engine. The pedal should move toward the floor at least 3/4" if the booster is good.
