egr problem

I have an 89' gmc jimmy 4.3 that will not pass emissions test and the "service engine soon" light comes on. Ran a diagnostic test on it and it comes back telling me EGR problems. Can you tell me where the EGR valve is located and anything else that may be realted. Thanks

EGR problem

I think the egr valve is located on the intake manifold on the drivers side. it should have two or three bolts holding it on with a vacume line running to it
You should be able to buy one a any local auto parts store, But beware some replacements have multiple washers that change the orfice size .
Make shure you put the proper one into the new egr valve
