Leak

Hello: I own a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity and recently after hard rains there appears on the drivers side floor directly under the steering wheel a puddle of water. I can see no dripping, no wet paths from doors or elsewhere, but only this puddle that seems like water just dripped down from the dashboard. The car wasnt driven so could not have splashed up from road and there is no rust through I could find underneath. I asked several service places but got no results. I was hoping that someone here might be familiar with this problem or tell me if there is somewhere water could be entering a vent and dripping down from dashboard, although I cant see it. The weatherstrip seems intact. Has 140000 miles and leak never occurred until recently, and body is in good condition otherwise. Next step would be to take it to dealers body shop and take my chances. I also thought it might be coming in through the firewall area and running under the carpeting and not leaving an obvious trail. I am stumped and I would like to find it myself without spending lots of money on a search that may still not find anything. Any suggestions?

Get a friend and a garden hose. One of you in the car the other sprays the hose starting down low until water comes in.I suggest removing the panel under the dash on the drivers side before you start and peel the carpet back some.Im not sure but it sounds like your windshield seal may have failed.

Thanks for the tip. Windshield was leaking over the dashboard. Place windshield was installed a few years back had lifetime warranty and they tested, verified and sealed at no charge.
