glow plug light not coming on

Hi. I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me what I should do? The glow plugs won't come on, and the truck won't start without them. The plugs are new, the battery is fine, and the other idiot lights come on when I engage the ignition. I have a 6.2J engine from an '88 Suburban.

There's a glow plug relay or controller that is likely burned out not causing the plugs to come on.

Get a hold of a diagnostic/service manual for it and go from there.

Check www.autolibrary.org as noted below.

Check fuses first. All of them. Make sure they are good.

Thanks for the input, but I checked the fuses, and replaced the relay. There was nothing wrong with either one. It is not getting power from somewhere, because when I bypass the system, everything turns on.

Whoa Nelley...time for a schematic now....no need to change parts...

Check www.autolibrary.org or consult a good service manual for a diagnostic procedure.
