i have a 1996 honda accord with 100,000 miles recently i noticed
my air conditioner cooling for a while then not cooling at all
so i had the system charged it was just one can low on freon
it is still doing the same thing.what do i need to check for .
could it be a bad compressor clutch,or bad relay switch.or
do
i need to replace compressor and the other components
how can i determine the problem i am desperate.

You cannot "top off" the system. If you need to add you have a leak.

AC service requires specialized tools, knowledge and service procedures to do it correctly. I suggest you bring it to a shop and have them go through it.

Could be a stuck expansion valve/bad orifice screen, but again, you need all of the right stuff to go through it.

found the problem

i looked in the honda accord repair manuel and the first thing
to check for was freon level which was fine, the next item was
to check to make sure the compressor clutch was engaging
by checking the 8 and 4 fuses and air conditioner relay.the
first thing i did was replace the fuses.that was the problem.
air condition operating fine now.
