1988 ford thunderbird, V8 sports coupe

My 1988 ford Thunderbird seems to be having an electrical problem. The symptom is when the ignition switch is turned all the way on the gages, and the climate control unit; do not work. But when the ignition key is turned on just before the motor turns the gages and the climate control work.

I have checked the fuses and they are fine, not certain where to check next. What is the difference between these two switch positions that could cause this problem.

Check the linkages from the lock cylinder to the ignition switch (the electrical one).

If the linkages check out, change both switches and you should be good to go.

98 Intrigue Problem

Within the last 60 days, I have started losing the plastic lug nut covers off of only one wheel. I just replaced two, and another one has come off. Does anyone know how tight these should be torqued? I don't want to strip the threads. Also, could they just be self destructing due to old age, like me? 99 Ford Expedition Brake Lights

Both of my rear brake lights don't come on when I brake, I dont know for how long though, someone told me today. The light on the top of the trunk comes on, and the rear lights and turn signals light properly, so I assume it is not the lights. When I was towing a trailor earlier today, the trailer brake lights worked. I looked at autolibrary.org and checked out some diagrams, but they where all pretty general.
