Fuel Pump

I HAVE A 1989 FORD BRONCO 302 MOTOR 5.0 LITRE. I AM GETTING NO POWER TO THE FUEL PUMPS ONLY. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE SAFETY DEVICES THAT SHUT OFF THE POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAN CAN TELL ME WHERE THE INERTIA SWITCH IS? THE CHILTON MANUAL SAYS THAT IT IS UNDER THE PASSENGERSIDE DASH BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHERE. I WANT TO CHECK AND SEEE IF THE SWITCH WAS TRIPPED BEFORE I HAVE TO TOW IT TO A SHOP. PLEASE HELP.

fuel pump power

check your fusible links at the alternator and or starter. If you pull on them they should not come apart easily. If one does it is bad.You can also check them with a testlight.

Look in your owner's manual for the inertia switch location. Check that first to make sure it has not tripped. It is a common pitfall that causes people a service/tow charge when the tow driver or mechanic simply resets the switch
