plymouth engine hesitation

I have a 1988 Plymouth Grand Fury, electronic ing., throttle body.
The engine hesitates and sometimes dies when starting off on level ground or incline, on an incline being worse than level ground. forward or reverse. It seems like it is worse in reverse. Once you get past this it runs like a champ.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

There is no TBI equipment in a 1988 Grand Fury. They are either 4 bbl Rochesters or possibly 2 barrel Carters or Holleys. You don't state the engine size, so I assume it's a 318 or possibly a 360 police package.

The latter two carbs are the rockbottom pits for driveability..hence why Chrysler eventually saw the light and went to a Q-jet .

Need more vehicle history and detail. See the forum's top of the page for posting guidelines and required information.
