steering gear box on '95 cherokee

Hi, I need to replace a steering gear box on a '95 Cherokee. What's involved in getting that guy out of of there? Also, do you know roughly what these cost to replace or if I were to try and rebuild it?

Thanks

I wouldn't recommend you rebuild your own gearbox. It's daunting and there's a lot of small parts to get right. A factory or A-1 Cardone (aftermarket) rebuilt is a better choice.

Check autolibrary for the R&R procedure. Typically not too hard on most trucks or cars that use them.

The GM ones I have bought run about 200 bucks rebuilt.
