Toyota Camary

I have a 93 Toyota Carary and the driver side window will only go up and down about 1 inch. It fiorst started 8 months ago but after after moving it up and down several time with the electrical switch it started working fine.

As I lowered it down yesterday I heard a pop, when i tried raising it it only went up half-way. I tried lowering and raising it again and it stayed down.

Now it will only go up and down about 1 inch.

what could be the problem and how do I repair it?

this will also help

I have a friend that worked at a Totota dealer he told me to use silicone spray on the tracks were the window slides.this will prolong the life of the cable due to less stress on the moving parts.I am sure this will also work on other types of cars.Just make sure you dont get spray on the glass since it is APITA to clean.
