Burning wires
I have a 94 Astro Van 4.3 lt engine automatic trans front and rear air. I have had a problem with my ignition switch burning out and the wire going to the air cond. melting. I have replace the switch several times and the plug containing the wire once. Both are still melting. pulled the fuses to front and rear air wire remained cool. replace front air fuse wire got hot. turn air to vent to turn off compressor wire was warm. turn air to high(high is burned out for several years) and turn air to max(compressor on) wire was warm. put fuse back in for rear wire got hot again. there is one problem with front resistor pack but it is not used when fan on high. Any ideas? What in the compressor could cause this wire to heat up but not trip fuse(20 amp). rear air on 25 amp going to same wire...
