Post How Do You Unplug He Cadiledic Converter

I HAVE A V- 350 TPI WITH FUEL INJUCTION . I NEED TO SEE IF MY CAD CONVERTER IS BAD . THEIR IS ONLY A STEEL TUBE RUNNING INTO IT UNDER THE CAR( NO WIRE TO CUT) AND THE CHELTONS IS NOT HELPING BECAUSE IT NEVER TELL YOU WHAT THE DAME THING LOOKS LIKE. DO YOU KNOW ANY WERE I CAN SEE A PICK OF THE CONNECTION ? ANY WAY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

take the car to an exhaust shop. I recently had the converters checked on my tbird, and they just torch a hole into the front of the converter, look into it, then reweld the hole.

An exhaust backpressure tester or temperature probe is the proper way to test a converter. I agree with Jeremy, get it to a muffler shop and have them check it.

If it is stuffed, you must find the reason why it is dumping too much fuel into the converter or the new one will be shortly ruined for the same reason.
