4-wheel drive
my girlfriend's got a geo tracker, and she's having flashbacks of a van where the wheel-bearings went bad. now, i looked all through her manual, but i couldn't see ANY reference to wheel-bearings.
i'm VERY MUCH a novice when it comes to cars, but i'm wondering if this is a valid concern for her??
THANKS!!!

more info
sorry, didn't even see that!
i believe it's a 1997 geo tracker.
4 cylinder.
auto. trans.
basically, i was just looking for info about greasing the wheel bearings on this thing, but i can't find anything in the manual about this. my girlfriend had a bad experience with wheel bearings in the past, and i'm just looking to put her mind as ease a little.
thanks!

Most likely if you are talking about the front wheel bearings they are sealed.
You do not lubricate wheel bearings on most modern cars like you did in years past. The spindle/hub is a sealed unit and presses in and out. Typically it makes noise when it goes bad (howling, etc).
You can check the autolibrary.org link below I have in my signature file and see if that answers your question.

As Joe_F said, you should check the autolibrary.org site for specific info. As davo said, the bearings are not sealed & do require periodic service. See the link below for specific info.
