AC Unit

I have a 1996 Buick Skylark with 3.1L engine. Last year my ac worked fine, This year I turn it on for the first time and it's not cooling. It uses the R134a. I purchased some to recharge it and the air got cool how ever when I cut the car of I here it seeping out but I can't tell where from. I even tried the leak stopper and detector with the red dye but I saw no red marks and still heard the 134a seeping out. Sound like it is coming from the compressor but not sure. Could you please give me a clue?

Thanks

I suggest you bring it in and have it professionally repaired. A/C service work is for naught (and dangerous) without the proper tools, service procedures and knowledge.

Many of those vintage GMs suffered from cracked evaporators. However, without the proper tools you won't find the problem and it will cost you more in the long run.

It could also be as simple as bad gaskets, but again, you need the right tools and procedures to zero in on the problem.
