I have just removed wallpaper from my 1860 farmhouse. Some walls are a smooth cream-colored plaster, others are coarser, with a sand-mixed appearance. I want to paint the walls. How can I make the coarser plaster smooth enough to paint? Thanks, Hal

Well, we managed to get the old oil tank out and taken care of. Now we have holes in the cinderblock foundation from taking out the pipes which connected the oil tank. Does anyone have any ideas on how to patch this area. There is a skim coat of stucco on the outside as well as the inside and we live in a cold climate so it needs to be sealed up well. The cinderblocks have the holes in the centre of them as well so we need to patch in such a way that whatever material we put in will not fall down the holes:confused: . All help and suggestions would, again, be appreciated! Don't know how we'd tackle some of these projects without this forum! Thanks!
