light colored stucco on foundation

our foundation is covered with light colored stucco ball over cement blocks. I have been trying to patch several areas that have come off over time, but can't seem to get the color correct.
I have tried to use the same next that was recommended by a local supplier, but, it's still too dark. can anyone out there suggest what I could use or add to the sand mix to lighten the color? The old stuff is the kind of cream color .
Thanks folks.

Why not just patch it, then paint it?

patch not paint stucco

I oringinly thought of doing that ,except that the old material is the same color top to bottom, and only have to patch approx. 5sq.ft.area. BUT, spread out over 2 sides of the foundation.
