Paint won't adhere

Paint won't adhere
I have a tray ceiling and the original painter/drywall guy used plastic corner pieces and what appears to be a non-paintable caulk in the joints of the ceiling. Our paint will not stick to this. What do we do?

Hello dak422,
Welcome to the forum.
If this is just caulk at the seams that won't paint, I think about striping it out & recaulking it with a paintable caulk. Can't believe your wall man did that, but it happens.
Other option might try to lightly sand the areas to rough up the surface & get the paint to adhere better. What kind of paint are we using? latex or alkyd, (oil-based)?
