trying to patch knock down ceiling
Spent $15 today for 2 cans of spray texture to try and get sort of close to matching the original texture of the knockdown ceiling. Didn't even come close. Any suggestion or tricks to try? All of this patching has to be done because I moved a wall. Appreciate the help.

Got some scrap drywall? All I can suggest for matching a texture is to try & try again. It's somewhere between hard to impossible to match a texture w/o some experience or alot of trial & error. Never used the spray can stuff, but even with regular drywall mud it's difficult. How big is the room? Might be easier to scrape & respray, than trying to match what you've got. Just a thought, that would require alot more work & mess. Best of luck.
