We just moved into a new house and our cat has decided to mark her territory by using the wall as scratching post. The scratches have pulled the paper away from the dry wall in long 2"-5" lines. How do we repair this without replacing the wall?

Wyliejoe,

You need to first remove any lose paper from the board. Don't woory about the paper if it should tear or peal. Next sand the complete area with 150 grit paper, then fill with drywall compound. Remember to only fill the the scratches. Depending on the compound you use, it may shrink so this may take 2 or 3 applications. Sand between coats (150), last sand 220, prime and paint. lol

Lift up a screen in your kitchen window, Make sure the window is closed. Place the cat against the window and close the screen. Problem solved and you now have an Aquirium Kitty. Your kids will love it.
