Orange peel texture on small drywall repairs.
#1

I was wondering if anyone knew of a easy way to texture small drywall repairs. I have numerous areas that have been patched that are smooth and standout because the rest of the wall is textured with a light orange peel finsh. I know that originally it was sprayed with a air compressor and hopper. Since I own neither I was looking for a easy solution.

grichy,
There are spray paint can sized cans of texture available. they cost 10 to 15 dollars (us) each. I have found them at ACE Hardware, some hardware/lumber stores, and at most builders suppliers. Be advised, they are a mess. The cans shoot out the texture much like a hopper. Don C.

Yes, one way is to use the spray cans of texture, but I found a way I like better. You can buy a little texture pump at any good paint store. For your needs, get the real little one - the whole thing will fit in your hand and costs about 12 bucks. You just thin down a little drywall mud and put it in and pump. You can adjust the size of the globs that come out. It has worked for me as a painter on every job I've ever come across. You'd think one orange peel texture was like another, but it's not true. Being able to adjust the mud thickness and the spatter diameter guarantees you can match the existing.
