Texture, Knockdown

Can I texture over a wall that has a fairly new single layer of wallpaper? I removed around the edges. It is very secure with only drywall underneath. Not looking forward to removing the wall paper. I have read all the tips and know how to do it. It is just very time consuming....

Best thing to do is remove wallpaper. If you just aren't going to do it then prime the wall first.

Thanks, that I am going to remove it. Guess I was hoping for a miracle. I was going to primer after I textured, but, should I primer before I texture? (or both?) With water or oil base?

For best results with knock down prime before with latex primer. No oil. You will also need to prime after.
