Repair Loose Dry Wall Tape

I just moved into a home where someone did an exceptionally poor job of taping joints. the tap is wrinkled and pulling lose form joint. Is there anyway to repair this problem without completely retaping every joint?

Thanks

Ross

Hi Ross & welcome aboard!

You could try skiming the joints with thinned joint compound, but honestly from your description of the problem, I'd rip the old tape off & retape & finish the joints. If you can still see the tape, the job was never done right to begin with & fixing it properly will greatly enhance to looks & maybe even the value of the property.

You need to remove the wrinkled and loose tape. Is it all over the house?
